My name is David Nusbaum and I am a freelance photographer working out of southeastern Minnesota.

While I've been shooting professionally since 2004, my personal love of photography dates back to the mid '70s when I first discovered a classic Life magazine buried in my grandmother's basement. The images I found in that magazine grabbed my attention and changed how I looked at the world around me. I was hooked and over the years this fascination expanded to include fine art and fashion photography as well as documentary. It was much later in life when this passion for viewing photographic images transformed into the need to create my own.

Today my focus is on photographing people, usually on location and sometimes in the studio. The style of my work continues to evolve, but I am constantly drawn to create images that feel more real and open new facets into deeper stories. My strength is in my ability to listen and understand before taking a project in a specific direction. I also have almost no fear when it comes to dragging my camera and equipment into almost any location or situation.

If you need a photographer for a personal, editorial or commercial project and are looking for a fresh approach, please don't hesitate to contact me. I will be more than happy to tell you what I can do for you and honest about what I cannot.
